LIV Golf Line-Up Brings Star Power and Major Dreams to Link Hong Kong Open
[Hong Kong, 9 October 2025] — A powerhouse field of 31 LIV Golf players is set to compete at the Link Hong Kong Open, the seventh stop of the 2025 International Series, bringing an unprecedented mix of talent, major champions, and global stars to the historic 64th edition of Hong Kong’s oldest professional sporting event.
Held at the iconic Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling from 30 October to 2 November, the tournament promises one of the most competitive line-ups in its storied history—with Official World Golf Ranking points and coveted major championship berths on the line.
Major Winners and LIV Champions Headline the Field
The star-studded roster includes multiple major champions:
Patrick Reed (4Aces GC) – 2018 Masters winner
Bubba Watson (RangeGoats GC) – Two-time Masters champion
Louis Oosthuizen (Stinger GC) – 2010 Open Champion
Charl Schwartzel (Stinger GC) – 2011 Masters winner
Martin Kaymer (Cleeks GC) – U.S. Open and PGA Championship winner
They’ll be joined by top LIV performers such as:
Talor Gooch (Smash GC) – Four-time LIV Golf champion
Harold Varner III and Thomas Pieters (4Aces GC)
Dean Burmester (Stinger GC)
Tom McKibbin (Legion XIII)
Peter Uihlein (RangeGoats GC)
Adding local flavor and past success are Ben Campbell (RangeGoats GC), a former Hong Kong Open champion, and Wade Ormsby, a two-time winner of the event who recently captured the Jakarta International Championship earlier this month.
High Stakes: Majors, Rankings, and Roster Spots
Beyond prestige, the tournament offers serious incentives. The winner will earn:
A spot in the 2026 Masters Tournament
Entry into the 154th Open Championship
Crucial OWGR points that could secure a place on next season’s LIV Golf roster
For Talor Gooch, the event is also a chance to build on his Asian success. Having won the LIV Golf Singapore title in 2023, he’s aiming for a second victory on the continent.
“It’s not my first time in Hong Kong, but I’m excited to be coming back to such a great course and such a great tournament,” Gooch said. “Of course, the Masters and Open places are a motivation too—but I love Hong Kong, the food, the culture, all of it.”
Varner III Returns with High Praise for Hong Kong
Harold Varner III, who tied for eighth at the 2023 Hong Kong Open and finished 22nd in the 2025 LIV Golf standings, is making his second International Series appearance this year after competing in India.
“I’m excited for the challenge against a lot of good players, a lot of good friends, and on a course I love,” Varner said. “Hong Kong is a special place with great golf and better people.”
“The International Series is a great opportunity for players to earn their way into LIV Golf, and the level of competition will be outstanding with so many great players coming over.”
Tight Race in The International Series Standings
With stops in the Philippines and Hong Kong this October, the battle for the International Series title is heating up. Scott Vincent currently leads the rankings after his runner-up finish in Jakarta, holding a narrow edge over Lucas Herbert (Ripper GC) and Carlos Ortiz (Torque GC).
