Lu Zhuoxi and Fu Xinqi Earn Exemption to AJGA The Spin Junior Championship After Qualifier in Zhuhai

On May 4, 2025, the AJGA The Spin Junior Championship Qualifier concluded in dramatic fashion at Zhuhai International Golf Club, with Lu Zhuoxi and Fu Xinqi securing hard-fought victories in the boys’ and girls’ divisions, respectively. The event, held over 36 grueling holes, showcased elite junior talent from across Asia, with Golfing serving as the official media partner to spotlight the rising stars. The winners now advance to the prestigious AJGA The Spin Junior Championship, set to take place from July 28–31, 2025, at The Ridge Golf Course in Northern California, USA.

Fu Xinqi’s Gritty Victory
Fu Xinqi of Shanghai claimed the girls’ title with a narrow one-stroke win, finishing at 149 (77-72). Battling pressure as the overnight leader, Fu endured a final round featuring two birdies, five bogeys, and a double bogey to edge out Tang Ziying. “I’m thrilled to secure my spot in the AJGA event,” said Fu, who previously competed in U.S.-based AJGA tournaments. “I held onto my lead, stayed positive, and can’t wait to test myself against the world’s best in California.” Her resilience under pressure underscored her readiness for the international stage.

Lu Zhuoxi’s Playoff Triumph
In the boys’ division, Lu Zhuoxi of Chongqing triumphed in a sudden-death playoff against Hong Kong China’s Hu Junyan. Hu, who led by two strokes entering the final round, stumbled with a double bogey on the 17th hole, forcing a tie at 148. Lu remained composed during the tense playoff, sealing victory on the second extra hole. “I didn’t realize I was tied until after my round—I stayed calm with deep breaths and trusted my game,” he said. Hu, though disappointed, reflected on his aggressive closing strategy: “Next time, I’ll play it safer. This experience fuels my ambition.”

Looking Ahead: California Dreaming
With their exemptions secured, Fu and Lu will join the world’s top junior golfers at The Ridge Golf Course this summer. The AJGA The Spin Junior Championship promises a high-stakes platform for these talents to shine. As Golfing celebrates its role in amplifying this journey, all eyes now turn to Northern California, where Fu’s precision and Lu’s clutch performances could redefine their careers.
